NEW CAMPAIGN ON POLIO VACCINATION
In March 2022, poliovirus emerged again in Israel, nine children were infected, some meningitis cases, and one case of paralysis in a 4-year-old child. None of them was vaccinated.
At the same time poliovirus was discovered in sewage in several regions: Jerusalem, Modiin Ilit, Bet Shemesh,
It seems that during the COVID era, vaccination schemes have been disrupted.
In April 2022, the Ministry of Health launched a campaign to vaccinate with the OPV and check the vaccination status of all the children.
ERANIM undertakes to support the Ministry of Health's efforts with different actions toward the general public, the Healthcare professionals, and the school.
Inspired by the 2 heroes who are saving the world, Jonas Salk and Albert Sabin, we will use their narratives to sensitise the children and teenagers, using superheroes cartoons, slogans and t-shirts.
BE A HERO AND SAVE THE WORLD FROM POLIO WITH 2 DROPS
The number of polio cases in the world decreased to 99.9% of its number since 1988 since the creation of the GPEI the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. Already 2 serotypes,PV 1 and PV3 of the wild polio have been eradicated, last effort is focused to totally eradicate the last serotype PV2.
